Junior Holden Cubberley to compete at NCAA III Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday and Friday

ADA — Junior Holden Cubberley (Celina) will compete in the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday and Friday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
The 3-meter diving competition will be held at approximately 12:45 pm on Wednesday and the 1-meter event will be held on Friday at approximately 12:45 pm.
Each diver will compete in 11 dives (5 voluntary and 6 optional) in the Trials portion of the competition at 12:45 pm.
The top eight finishers in the Trials will advance to the Finals at approximately 7 pm.
Finishers 9-16 will advance to the Consolation Finals in the afternoon immediately after the conclusion of the Trials.
In the Finals/Consolation Finals, each diver will start with their voluntary score from the Trials and will compete in 6 optional dives to determine places 9-16 and 1-8.
The top eight finishers will earn All-America honors with finishers 9-16 earning Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Cubberley qualified for the NCAA Championships by finishing third on the 3-meter board (430.50) and was 16th on the 3-meter board (375.80) at the NCAA III Central regional Championships March 1-2 at Denison.
He is making his second NCAA Championships appearance, as he finished 19th on the 3-meter board with 395.75 points and 18th on the 1-meter board with 413.80 points as a freshman in 2022.
Cubberley holds the school records for both the 1-meter (524.35 points) and 3-meter (527.30 points) diving competitions.
He is also a 6-time Ohio Athletic Conference Champion and has won OAC Diver of the Year honors each of his first three seasons at ONU.
