Men's Swimming and Diving celebrates Senior Day against #17 Case Western Reserve

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day with a 179-119 loss to No. 17-ranked Case Western Reserve on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
Freshman Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) led the Polar Bears (4-3 overall) by sweeping the breast events and anchoring the winning 400 free relay team.
The Spartans improve to 6-2.
Northern honored its five seniors, Justin Chapman (Springboro), Jacob Cordle (Lancaster), Anthony Ferrell (Canton/Glen Oak), Pete He (Mason) and Gabe Rastatter (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) in a ceremony before the meet.
Adams led a 1-2-3 ONU finish in the 100 breast in 1:00.31 and won the 200 breast in 2:13.15.
He joined He, junior Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) and Chapman to win the mneet-ending 400 free relay in 3:13.99.
Ferrell was second in the 100 breast in 1:00.86 and sophomore Pat Reed (Charleston, W.Va./Washington) was third in 1:01.15.
He also won the 100 fly in :53.16 and Chapman finished second in the 100 free in :49.48.
Freshman Noah Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) finished second in the 50 free in :22.49.
Northern got the meet started off right as Huey, Ferrell, sophomore Zach Ayres (Chillicothe) and He won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:35.97.
The Polar Bears will take the next two weeks off to prepare for the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 14-16 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
