This Weekend's Meets: The Polar Bears will open the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of its 2017-18 schedule with a meet at Wilmington on Friday and home with John Carroll on Saturday ... Friday's meet will feature 14 women's and men's events (no diving) with shorter distances ... Saturday's meet with John Carroll will have 16 men's and women's events with the men going first to follow this season's NCAA III Championships format ... The Polar Bears are riding a 29-match home winning streak in OAC dual meets ... ONU has not lost at home against an OAC opponent since 2004 ... The meet with John Carroll is also ONU's annual Swim for CF fundraiser ... Junior Pete He and sophomore Nolan Huey each earned second place finishes to lead Ohio Northern to a fourth place finish at the Calvin (Mich.) Invitational Nov. 3-4 at the Venema Aquatic Center ... He had a pair of second place finishes and added a fourth place finish for the Polar Bears ... He was second in the 50 free in :21.79, was second in the 200 fly in 2:00.40 and was fourth in the 100 fly in :52.91 ... Huey was second in the 400 I.M. in 4:15.35 and was third in the 200 back in 1:57.05 ... Freshman Ryan Mow was third in the 500 free in 4:54.90... Senior Ian Simpson was fifth in the 100 back in :54.73, junior Anthony Ferrell was fifth in the 200 breast in 2:18.15 and junior Braden Kuhn was fifth in the 1-meter diving with 368.60 points.

ONU head coach Peggy Ewald: Ewald is in her 14th season at ONU and is the program's all-time winningest coach with a 100-14 men's dual meet record, a winning percentage of .709. She has been named OAC Men's Coach of the Year seven times and guided the Polar Bear men to 12 consecutive OAC Championships crowns from 2005-16 and 10 straight OAC Regular Season titles from 2007-16.
