Senior Eric Chen wins two events to lead men's Swimming & Diving in loss at Case Western Reserve

CLEVELAND — Senior Eric Chen (Mason) won twice to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team in a 197-91 loss at Case Western Reserve on Saturday afternoon at Veale Natatorium.
The Polar Bears wrap up their regular season with a 5-4 record, while the Spartans improve to 7-2.
Chen won the 100 free in :47.34 and the 200 I.M. in 2:00.23.
Ohio Northern posted a 1-2-3 finish in the 50 free, led by senior Logan Pfeifer (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) with a win in :21.79.
Sophomore Justin Chapman (Springboro) was second in :22.13 and junior Ian Simpson (Strongsville) was third in :22.17.
Freshman Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) was second in the 100 back in :53.87 and was second in the 200 back in 2:00.82.
Sophomore Pete He (Mason) was second in the 200 fly in :53.62.
The Polar Bears will now take time off to prepare for the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet Feb. 16-18 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
