Men's Swimming and Diving finishes fourth of 9 teams at Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER — The Ohio Northern men's swimming & diving team finished fourth of nine teams with 1,074 points after the third and final day of the Wooster Invitational at the Timken Natatorium and the Wooster YMCA pools on Saturday.
Freshman Nolan Huey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) capped off an impressive three-day performance with a second place finish in the 1650 free in 16:22.65.
He set previously school records in the 400 I.M. on Friday and the 200 back on Thursday.
Senior John Raker (Lebanon/Lakota West) was third in the 200 fly in 1:55.03 and sophomore Pete He (Mason) was seventh in the event in 1:57.78.
Senior Eric Chen (Mason) was third in the 100 free in :46.55 and senior Logan Pfeifer (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) was eighth in :47.98.
Sophomore Anthony Ferrell (Canton/Glen Oak) and junior Thomas Golba (Kettering/Alter) finished sixth and eighth in the 200 breast, with Ferrell touching sixth in 2:10.78 and Golba finishing eighth in 2:12.02.
The 400 free relay team of Chen, junior Ian Simpson (Strongsville), He and Pfeifer wrapped up the meet with a third place finish in 3:07.65.
Case Western Reserve won the team title with 1618 points, Westminster (Pa.) was second with 1,215 points and Gannon (Pa.) was third with 1206 points.
The Polar Bears will return to action with their annual Winter Training trip to Colorado in January.
