Sophomore Trevor Keriazes leads Men's Swimming and Diving past Wilmington 136-69

WILMINGTON — The Ohio Northern Men's Swimming and Diving team, led by sophomore Trevor Keriazes, defeated Wilmington Friday evening 136-69 at the Wilmington Natatorium.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while Wilmington falls to 1-1, 1-1.
Keriazes led the Polar Bears by winning the 800-yard free in 9:18.29, the 100 IM in 1:01.86 and the 100 breast in 1:08.86.
""We were excited to open our OAC season against the Quakers," ONU head coach Peggy Ewald said. "It's a great environment when you can race against a team who matches up with good character. We got to see where our freshman will grow and where we need to continue work."
Also winning individual events were freshman Pete He in the 200 free in 2:01.33, junior John Raker in the 100 fly in 1:01.76 and freshman Bryant Hagemann in the 400 free in 4:28.85.
The relay team of sophomore Gabe Dauch, freshman Anthony Ferrell, Raker and junior Eric Chen won the 200 medley relay in 1:52.66.
The team of Chen, junior Logan Pfeifer, He and Dauch also won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:38.74.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they host John Carroll on Faculty Appreciation Day at the ONU Sports Center Natatorium at 1 pm.
