CLEVELAND - The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team fell to Case Western Reserve 215-78 on Saturday afternoon at the Veale Natatorium.
The Polar Bears drop their record to 7-2 overall, while the Spartans improve to 7-1.
"Case is a competitive team that always puts us to the test" said head coach Peggy Ewald.
Sophomore Logan Pfeifer led Northern on the afternoon by winning the 100-yard free in 48.34 seconds.
The sophomore also took second in the 50 free in 22.28 seconds.
The team of Pfeifer, sophomore Eric Chen, senior Chris W. Hoffman and junior Mitchell Murphy finished second in the 400-yard free relay in 3:15.26.
"We've embraced a few unexpected challenges the past 8 days," said Ewald. "During the week we had up to 13 athletes out sick, but going into our last dual meet with that many sick required us to stand tall and get the job done by doing the best we could with what we had to work with."
The Polar Bears will return to the pool February 19-21 at the OAC Championships at the University of Akron.
