Trevor Keriazes wins the 200 I.M. to lead Men's Swimming & Diving at Calvin (Mich.) Quad Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team finished second of four teams in a quad meet at Calvin (Mich.) Friday and Saturday at the Venema Aquatic Center.
No. 20-ranked Calvin won the meet with 1,119 points, the Polar Bears were second with 799 points, Carthage (Wis.) was third with 732 points and Albion (Mich.) was fourth with 653 points.
Freshman Trevor Keriazes led ONU with three top-5 finishes in the meet.
He won the 200 I.M. in 1:57.76, was second in the 200 breast in 2:13.24 and was fourth in the 100 breast in 1:00.72.
In all, nine Polar Bears had at least one top-5 finish on the weekend.
Sophomore Jeremy Preston was second in the 100 fly in :52.25 and was fourth in the 200 fly in 2:02.44.
Sophomores John Raker and Eric Chen each had a pair of third place finishes.
Raker was third in the 400 I.M. in 4:20.33 and was third in the 200 fly in 2:02.35, while Chen was third in the 50 free in :21.80 and was third in the 100 free in :48.00.
Junior Zach Martin was third in the 1650 free and freshman Gabe Dauch was third in the 100 back in :54.57.
Senior Spencer Franzoi was fourth in the 200 back in 2:05.98 and junior Sean O'Neill was fourth in the 100 fly in :54.26.
Freshman Ian Simpson touched fifth in the 100 back in :55.33.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday when they host Baldwin Wallace in a 1 pm dual meet at the ONU Sports Center.
Also that day ONU will celebrate Senior Day, will hold their annual Swim for Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser and will battle the Yellow Jackets for the Golden Kickboard trophy.
