Men's Swimming and Diving defeats Oberlin and Wittenberg in Tri-Match

ADA - The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team defeated Wittenberg 184-94, and Oberlin 203-64 Saturday afternoon in a tri-match at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-1 on the season.
Ohio Northern had first place finishes in 11 of the 14 events in which they competed, led by sophomore John Raker with three individual victories.
Raker won the 200 fly in 1:57.88, the 200 I.M. in 2:00.67 and the 500 free in 4:49.60.
The first event, the 400 medley relay, was won by the team of freshman Gabe Dauch, freshman Trevor Keriazes, sophomore Jeremy Preston and sophomore Logan Pfeifer in a time of 3:35.40.
The Polar Bears then went on to win the 1000 free as junior Zach Martin completed the event with a time of 10:28.08.
Dauch led ONU in the 200 free as he won the event with a time of 1:49.34.
The 100 back was won by ONU freshman Ian Simpson with a time of :56.37, followed by sophomore teammate Eric Chen with a time of :56.63.
The Polar Bears continued their domination as Keriazes won the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.57.
Chen won the 100 free in :48.08 and dauch won the 200 back in 2:02.43.
Raker and Keriazes claimed the top two spots for Northern in the 200 IM, Raker won the event in 2:00.67, and Keriazes was second in 2:01.19.
Ohio Northern closed out the meet with a first and second place finish in the 400 free relay. The team of junior Mitchell Murphy, Chen, Simpson, and Pfeifer won the event with a time of 3:15.94, followed by the team of freshman Thomas Golba, freshman Michael Drake, senior Chris W. Hoffman, and sophomore Chris T. Hoffman with a time of 3:26.78.
The Polar Bears will return to action December 4-6 as they compete in the Wooster Invitational.
