Breitigam opens the 2014 NCAA III Swimming & Diving Championships in the 200 I.M. Wednesday morning

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Ohio Northern senior All-American Jordan Breitigam got his Championships meet underway on Wednesday morning by competing in the 200 I.M. at the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Breitigam finished 57th of 63 swimmers in 1:55.33. He was seeded 42nd in the event with a qualifying time of 1:53.30.
The is the first of three events for Breitigam, who will swim in his stronger events Thursday and Friday in the 100 fly and 200 fly, respectively.
Breitigam is ranked No. 10 nationally in the 200 fly with an NCAA III Cut time of 1:49.51 and is ranked No. 17 in the 100 fly with an NCAA III Cut time of :49.28.
He is a two-time Honorable Mention All-American in the 200 fly, finishing ninth last year in 1:47.46 and finishing 13th at the 2012 NCAA III Championships.
The top eight in each event earn All-American status and finishers 9-16 earn Honorable All-American honors.
