Ohio Northern Men's, Women's Swimming & Diving teams earn Scholar All-America honors for 2011-12

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's swimming & diving teams were named Scholar All-America Teams for 2011-12 by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
The Polar Bear men finished with a team grade point average of 3.24, placing them 36th nationally and tops in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
The Ohio Northern women finished with a cumulative 3.36 GPA last year which is 57th-best in the nation and second among OAC schools.
The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
Both Ohio Northern squads won the OAC Championships crowns in 2011-12 under eighth-year head coach Peggy Ewald.
