No. 16 Men's Swimming & Diving closes out regular season with win over No. 12 Case Western

ADA — The No. 16 Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team won 158-136 and handed 12th-ranked Case Western Reserve its first loss of the season in a close battle at the ONU Sports Center Saturday afternoon.
ONU closes out the regular season 12-1 overall and Case Western falls to 10-1.
Junior Drew Keriazes helped pave the way for the Polar Bears earning 33 points and three first places finishes.
Keriazes won the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 59.56 and 2:11.71, respectively. He was also a member of the 400 medley relay team, along with senior Anders Samuelson, junior Marc Anderson and freshman Brian Heilbronner, take first place with a time of 3:32.36.
Senior Michael Schultz took two first places finishes in his last regular season meet as a Polar Bear. He won the 1000 and 500 free with times of 9:54.66 and 4:48.68, respectively.
Anderson and sophomore Jordan Breitigam both took first in the butterfly events. Anderson won the 100 fly in 57.76 and Breitigam won the 200 in 1:56.74.
The Polar Bears swept the diving events as senior Nick Meyer won the 3-meter (246.40 points) and junior Albert Smith won the 1-meter (253.80 points).
Head coach Peggy Ewald was very pleased and excited about the results of the meet, saying "it was a great way to end the regular season and honor our seniors on Senior Night. Case Western was one of our toughest matchups but now I'm ready to get the swimmers some rest and get prepared for OAC Championships."
The Polar Bears end the regular season on top of the OAC and do not swim again until February 16 in Akron for the OAC Championships.
