Tuesday's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's soccer team will host Marietta in the quarterfinal round of the OAC Tournament ... After posting a 1-1 double overtime tie against Marietta on Saturday evening, Northern locked up the No. 4 seed in this week's OAC Tournament and will host the Pioneers at Kerscher Stadium ... The winner of the quarterfinal round will then travel to Westerville to take on No. 1-seed Otterbein on Thursday in a semifinal matchup ... Since the 2006 season, Northern has appeared in the OAC Tournament Championship game nine times and has claimed the tournament title seven times ... In Ridenour's 20 seasons at the helm of the men's soccer program, the Polar Bears have failed to make the OAC Tournament only three times and have advanced passed the quarterfinal round on every occasion but one ... Northern enters the contest after freshman Zachary Yoder forced overtime against Marietta in the 89th minute of Saturday evening's contest, where ONU would play the visitors to a 1-1 tie ... Seniors Cory Lains and Grant Cayot teamed up for the assist on the goal ... Senior J.J. Fortner led the team and ranked second in the OAC during the regular season with 14 goals ... Fortner also leads the team and ranks third in the conference with 30 points ... Cayot and Lains are currently tied for the lead on the team with five assists each ... Defensively, freshman Dylan Plank leads the team and ranks third in the OAC in goals against average (0.94) and save percentage (.791) ... Plank also leads the team and ranks second in the OAC with only 14 goals allowed this season ... Marietta enters the contest after finishing the season with a 1-1-1 record ... The Pioneers have made seven appearances in the history of the OAC Tournament ... This season marks the fourth straight season that Marietta has appeared in the OAC Tournament ... The Pioneers best finish in the tournament came in 2008 when they earned Runners Up honors ... Senior GK Tyler Sholl currently leads the team and ranks fifth in the OAC with a 1.08 GAA and a .758 save percentage ... Sholl also leads the team and ranks fourth in the OAC with only 16 goals allowed.
