Junior Chris Garbig named NSCAA Second Team Scholar All-America

ADA — Junior Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highlands) has been named National Soccer Coaches Association of America Second Team Scholar All-America for the 2016 season.
To be eligible for selection, the student athlete must be nominated by his or her Head Coach and meet the following criteria:
- Have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career
- Start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team
- Plays for a current NSCAA College Services member institution
Garbig, an Accounting major, was a First Team All-OAC selection after starting in 22 of the teams 23 contests and scoring two goals and adding four assists.
The junior also earned First Team All-Great Lakes Region as a midfielder.
The No. 9-ranked Polar Bears concluded their season in the first round of the NCAA III Tournament after dropping a 1-0 decision to No. 6 Calvin (Mich.) under 19th-year head coach Brent Ridenour.
