Men's Soccer lands four on NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region list

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team saw four members named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Great Lakes Region teams for the 2016 season.
Seniors Matt Kinkopf (Hamilton/Cincinnati Christian), David Janusz (Oregonia/Lebanon) and Grant Allbritten (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community) and junior Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highlands) all earned the honor.
Kinkopf was named First Team All-Great Lakes Region as a forward for the second consecutive year.
The OAC Forward of the Year led the team and conference in goals (16), assists (17), and points (49) and also ranked second nationally in assists.
Kinkopf ended his career as the all-time goals leader at Ohio Northern with 57 career goals, ranks tied for second all-time with 33 assists, and ranks second all-time at ONU with 147 career points.
Kinkopf was also named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference.
Garbig was also named First Team All-Great Lakes Region as a midfielder.
The junior earned the All-Great Region honor for the first time in his career.
A First Team All-OAC selection, Garbig started in 22 of Northern's 23 games and scored two goals and added four assists.
Janusz was named Third Team All-Great Lakes Region as a forward and earned his first regional honor.
Janusz was also a First Team All-OAC selection after ranking second on the team and in the conference in goals (12), assists (8), and points (32).
Allbritten also earned his first career regional honor after being named Third Team All-Great Lakes Region as a defender.
The senior was also named First Team All-OAC, appeared in and started 19 games for ONU, and scored two goals and added three assists on the season.
Northern finished the season ranked No. 9 nationally after climbing as high as No. 3 in the NSCAA poll.
The Polar Bears season came to an end as they fell to Calvin (Mich.) in the first round of the NCAA III Tournament under 19th-year head coach Brent Ridenour.
