Men's Soccer lands seven All-OAC honorees

ADA — The No. 9-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team saw seven members earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference for the 2016 season.
Seniors Matt Kinkopf (Hamilton/Cincinnati Christian), David Janusz (Oregonia/Lebanon), Grant Allbritten (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community), and junior Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highland) were named First Team All-OAC.
Juniors Dean McNeil (Medina/Medina) and Grant Cayot (Roanoke, Ind./Blackhawk Christian) earned Second Team All-OAC honors, while senior Austin Horton (Lewis Center/Olentangy) was named Honorable Mention All-OAC.
Kinkopf earned his fourth All-OAC accolade as a forward and was named to the First Team for the third time in his career.
The senior led the team and conference with 16 goals, 17 assists and 49 points.
He currently ranks first all-time at ONU with 57 goals, is tied for second all-time with 33 assists, and is second all-time at ONU with 147 points.
Kinkopf was also named Forward of the Year in the OAC for the second consecutive year.
Janusz was named First Team All-OAC as a forward and earned his third career All-OAC honor.
The senior ranked second on the team and in the OAC with 12 goals, eight assists, and 32 points.
Garbig was named First Team All-OAC as a midfielder and earned his first All-OAC honor as a Polar Bear.
Garbig has started in 21 of the teams 22 contests and is tied for fifth on the team with four assists this season.
Allbritten earned his first All-OAC honor as a Polar Bear after being named First Team All-Conference as a defender.
The senior appeared in and started 19 games for ONU and scored two goals and added three assists on the season.
Cayot was named Second Team All-OAC as a defender and collected his first all-conference accolade.
The junior made starts in all 22 games this season for Northern and scored one goal.
McNeil was named Second Team All-OAC as a goalie and earned his second all-conference honor as a Polar Bear.
The junior leads the team with 71 saves and has a goals against average of 0.53 which ranks 11th best nationally.
McNeil currently leads the team and OAC with 12 shutouts, a .855 save percentage, a 0.53 goals against average and only 12 goal allowed all season. He also ranks second all-time at ONU with 27 career shutouts.
Horton earned Honorable Mention All-OAC honors as a midfielder and earned his third all-conference honor.
The senior started all 22 games for Northern and scored five goals and added three assists.
The Polar Bears earned an at large bid to the NCAA III Tournament and will take on No. 6 Calvin (Mich.) Friday at 1:30 pm at Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University.
