Men's and Women's Soccer named recipients of 2015 NSCAA Academic Award

ADA — The 2015 Ohio Northern men's and women's soccer teams have been named a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Academic Award.
The 2015 women's squad finished 12-7-2 overall and 7-2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference under then 12th-year head coach Mark Batman, while the men's team finished 17-5-1, 8-1-0 and won the OAC Regular Season title and OAC Tournament title under then 18th-year head coach Brent Ridenour.
To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
A total of 915 teams across the country from all three divisions earned the award, while Northern was one of 236 schools to recieve both the men's and women's award.
