NEW CONCORD – Ohio Northern defeated Muskingum Saturday evening 2-1 at McConagha Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 11-6-1 overall, 4-2-1 OAC, while Muskingum falls to 5-12-0 overall, 1-6-0 OAC.
The Polar Bears took the early 1-0 lead as sophomore Dustin Lorenzo was able to capitalize off an assist from freshman Chris Garbig.
Muskingum, however, answered minutes later as Christopher Heine was able to score off a pass from Quenan Martin locking the game at 1-1.
Ohio Northern out shot the Fighting Muskies in the first half 14-5.
With just four minutes remaining in the game sophomore David Janusz was able to score off an assist from senior Chuck D'Imperio to lift ONU past Muskingum.
The Polar Bears gave up just eight shots in the game to the Fighting Muskies, out shooting Muskingum 23-8 in the game.
Ohio Northern is next in action Tuesday as they travel to Cleveland to take on OAC opponent Baldwin Wallace.
