ADA - The Polar Bears tied Wilmington Wednesday evening 1-1 in double overtime.
The Polar Bears move to 7-5-1 overall, 0-1-1 OAC and Wilmington moves to 5-5-2 overall, 0-1-1 in the OAC.
Ohio Northern dominated the first half out shooting Wilmington 6-3 and possessing the ball for almost the entire half.
The Quakers however, were able to capitalize in the 30th minute off a throw in from Taylor Estes. Drew Fields was able to place a header to the far post just out of the reach of freshman goalkeeper Dean McNeil.
ONU started the second half much of the same possessing the ball for almost the first eight minutes of the half and firing off three shots.
In the 35th minute the Polar Bears were able to find an equalizer as sophomore David Janusz was able to score on a penalty kick following a Wilmington foul.
The Polar Bears out shot Wilmington 18-4 in the second half, holding Wilmington to just one shot.
The overtime period were much more even as both teams had chances to score but neither team could capitalize.
Sophomore Dustin Lorenzo had a chance in the 106th minute to give the Polar Bears the win but he missed just off the top cross bar.
ONU out shot the Quakers 26-8, 12 of which came in the second half.
The Polar Bears are next in action Saturday as they travel to Mount Union for a one o'clock game.
