Freshman Matt Kinkopf named OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

ADA — Freshman Matt Kinkopf has been named the OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the Week of Sept. 9-15.
Kinkopf finished the week with three goals and two assists as ONU defeated Wittenberg 6-0, Albion (Mich.) 3-2 and Berry (Ga.) 3-1.
On Tuesday against Wittenberg, Kinkopf scored his first goal of the week in the 26th minute to put the No. 8-ranked Polar Bears ahead 2-0.
Against Albion (Mich.) on Friday, Kinkopf scored in the 80th minute to tie the match at 1-1. In the second overtime, Kinkopf dribbled down the right side and sent a pass to freshman Austin Horton who then sent a pass across the box to Prescott, who blasted home the game winning goal.
On Saturday, Kinkopf scored Northern's second goal against Berry (Ga.) to put the Polar Bears back on top 2-1 at the 61:36 mark.
This season, Kinkopf leads thre Polar Bears in scorign with 10 points on four goals and two assists.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts No. 6 Ohio Wesleyan in a battle on top 10 teams at 4 pm.
