Men’s Soccer places five on 2011 Academic All-Ohio Teams

ADA — Two seniors and three juniors from the Ohio Northern men's soccer team were named Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association.
Senior Cory Dobkins, and juniors Austin Windsor, Cameron Johnson and Nate Bascom were First Team selections, while senior Dustin Connor earned a spot as Second Team Academic All-Ohio.
Dobkins has already been named an All-American twice this offseason by NSCAA and D3Soccer.com. The OAC Midfielder of the Year started in all of his 23 game appearances at midfielder, recording 15 points on four goals and seven assists.
He majors in accounting.
Windsor is a Second Team All-Ohio selection that started in all 25 contests at defender this season. The mechanical engineering major recorded seven points on two goals and three assists. He was also a member of a stifling defense that recorded 15 shutouts.
Johnson is an electrical engineering student that started in every game this season at midfielder. He finished second on the team and third in the OAC with 33 points on 14 goals and five assists.
He also earned his third career All-OAC award this season as a First Team selection and made a return appearance as NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region.
Bascom is another All-American from the 2011 team as D3Soccer.com honored him as such. He was also named Second Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA, as well as a host of other awards.
The biology major started in all 24 of his game appearances as a forward and led the team and the conference in points (41) and goals (16) and was tied for first in assists at nine.
Connor started all 25 games at the defender position. In addition to anchoring a defense that allowed only 19 opponent goals this year, he also posted one goal and one assist.
The biochemistry student earned Second Team All-OAC and Academic All-OAC laurels this year.
