ADA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a 14-5 victory over Muskingum on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 10-3 overall and are 5-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Muskies fall to 5-8, 1-5.
Junior John Lynn (Cincinnati/Sycamore) scored three goals and senior Riley O'Neal (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) had two goals and three assists for a team-high five points to lead ONU.
Northern dominated the first 30 minutes, building a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and a 10-1 advantage at halftime.
Ohio Northern got goals from O'Neal and senior Tyler Ferguson (Springboro) tallied third period goals as the hosts led 12-2 after 45 minutes.
In all, ONU played 45 different players in the contest.
Senior Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) allowed only two goals and had five saves in 45 minutes of action in goal for Ohio Northern.
Northern out-shot MC 46-24 and won the turnover battle 26-16.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday when they host league-leading Baldwin Wallace at 7 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
