UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Ohio Northern was knocked out of the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament in the semifinals on Wednesday night 15-4 by John Carroll at Don Shula Stadium.
The No. 3 seeded Polar Bears end their season with a 12-5 overall record.
The No. 2 seed Blue Streaks (15-2) advance to the finals on Saturday at top-seeded Baldwin Wallace.
Northern got on the board first when junior Ben Gawronski (Dublin/Scioto) scored just 1:31 into the contest.
But the Blue Streaks would score the next 12 goals to put the game away.
"I am so proud of our guys," ONU head coach Nat St. Laurent said. "Our seniors did a great job with our program leaving it better then they found it. We were regionally-ranked for the first time this year and we had the second-most wins against a difficult schedule. Tonight stings, but the future of our program is very bright. We have a large number of quality people ready to step in for our graduated seniors and keep the program going in the right direction."
Junior Tyler Ferguson (Springboro) scord with 7:32 left in the third quarter to get ONU within 12-2.
Sophomore John Lynn (Cincinnati/Sycamore) and freshman Nate Jablonski (Cary, Ill./Cary Grove) also scored for ONU.
Morgan Morrell scored eight goals to lead JCU.
This is the fourth consecutive appearance in the OAC Tournament for the Polar Bears.
John Carroll out-shot Ohio Northern 47-23.
