Nine earn Academic All-Conference accolades in Men's Lacrosse for 2017

ADA — Nine members of the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse squad were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for the 2017 season.
Sophomores Matthew Laudico (Williamsville, N.Y./South), Logan Krogman (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley), Jackson Pfister (Upepr Arlington), Mitchell Frisby (Wadsworth), Andrew Laudico (Williamsville, N.Y./South), Lucas Blaszyk (Spencerport, N.Y./Churchville-Chili), Andrew Markell (Missouri City, Tex./Ridge Point), Noah St. Croix (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) and Andrew Fox (Solon) all received the honor.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade point-average of at least 3.50.
ONU led the league in men's lacrosse award winners, as no other school had more than five honorees.
In all, 30 men's lacrosse student/athletes and 366 student/athletes from all the spring sports earned Academic All-OAC honors.
All nine Polar Bears received Academic All-OAC honors for the first time in their respective careers.
Matthew Laudico played in 10 games as a reserve defender, registering eight ground balls and one caused turnover.
He is majoring in accounting.
Krogman, an accounting major, set a school record with 68 ground balls this season and also led the Polar Bears with 29 caused turnovers.
He also scored four goals and had three assists for seven points.
A defender, Krogman missed the 2016 season due to injury and is a freshman eligibility-wise but is in his season year as a student/athlete at ONU.
Pfister, a pharmaceutical business major, started all 16 games on defense for ONU in 2017.
He is ONU's all-time career leader with 79 ground balls and ranks second all-time with 34 caused turnovers.
This season, Pfister was second on the team with 40 ground balls and was fourth with 12 caused turnovers.
Frisby is a face off specialist majoring in business and saw action in 15 games this spring.
He was second on the team with 59 faceoff victories this season and a .573 winning percentage.
In his career, Frisby is second all-time at ONU with 110 faceoff wins.
Andrew Laudico is a long stick midfielder and is majoring in accounting.
He played in 14 games this year and had eight ground balls and caused four turnovers.
Blaszyk played in 13 games with two starts as an attacker this season.
An exercise physiology major, Blaszyk was seventh on the team with nine goals, was fifth with nine assists and was seventh with 18 points on the year.
He ranks ninth all-time at ONU with 18 career goals, is sixth with 15 assists and is seventh with 33 career points. He also has four career hat tricks.
Markell is a chemistry major and played in seven games as a reserve goalie.
in 68 minutes of action, Markell had six saves and an impressive 4.40 goals against average.
St. Croix started 15 games as an attacker in 2017 and is a business major.
He was fourth on the team this season with 15 goals, was third with 14 assists and was fourth with 29 points.
In 31 career games, St Croix ranks fourth all-time at ONU with 34 career goals. He is also second all-time at Ohio Northern with 33 assists and is fourth with 67 career points.
St. Croix also has five career hat tricks to his credit.
Fox, a defender majoring in marketing, started all 16 games for ONU this season.
This season, Fox led the team and was second in the OAC with 35 caused turnovers and was fourth on the team with 33 ground balls.
A two year starter, Fox is ONU's all-time career leader with 71 caused turnovers and is fourth with 42 ground balls.
In their second season as a varsity program, the Polar Bears posted a second consecutive 9-7 overall record and improved two spots to fifth in the OAC with a 4-4 league mark in 2017 under second-year head coach Nat St. Laurent.
