ADA — Freshman Max Weese scored six goals and freshman Steven Slagle had three goals and five assists to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team to a 20-6 victory over Concordia (Ill.) on Saturday evening at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Cougars fall to 0-2.
In all, 10 different Polar Bears scored goals and 13 different players had at least one point in the game.
Northern scored four goals in the first six minutes of play, keyed by goals from freshman Mitch Grove, and led 8-3 after the first quarter.
The Polar Bears out-scored the Cougars 5-1 in the second quarter to take a commanding 13-4 lead into halftime.
Northern out the game away with a 7-0 third period and led 20-4 entering the final stanza.
The Polar Bears out-shot Concordia 44-21 and had 54 ground balls to 20 for the Cougars.
Ohio Northern will return to action next Saturday with a home game at Noon against Beloit (Wis.) at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
