ADA — The Ohio Northern men's and women's golf teams dedicated their new Short Game Facility on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon on the ONU campus.
The 2,000-square-foot putting green was completed at the end of August and is located near the King Horn Sports Center.
It is available for ONU's golfers to practice both their putting and short games.
The putting green's artificial turf is as true to a natural surface as possible, and its use is not constrained by the weather.
Combined with the indoor golf lab located inside the Sports Center, the practice opportunities available to ONU's golfers are second to none among Division III schools.
"We are so excited to add this putting green for our golfers," ONU Athletic Director Tom Simmons said. "It is unique for most Division III golf programs, and to have it funded totally through donations is a testament to our loyal supporters. We are so grateful to them. Thanks too for the support of the ONU administration, allowing us to pursue this project and granting the space necessary to construct something that will be useful for many years. We look forward to a very bright future for the student-athletes on the ONU men's and women's golf teams."
The generosity of the Johnson Family, Phil and Kathy Dunkin and Brent and Kelly Schroeder made the facility possible.
