Men's Golf finishes third of six at Lourdes Gray Wolf Invitational

SYLVANIA — Senior Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) had a 6-over par 78 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a third place finish at the 6-team Lourdes Gray Wolf Invitational on Monday at Sylvania Country Club.

The Polar Bears (7-11 overall) posted a 316 in the 18-hole tournament.

Steyer finished tied for ninth of 59 golfers.

Freshman Anthony Naso (Grosse Ile, Mich.) and sophomore Adam Trigg-Holdman (Cincinnati/Roger Bacon) tied for 13th with 79s. and freshman Bennet Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) tied for 22nd with an 80.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Andrew Briars (Grosse Ile, Mich.) tied Stayer for ninth with a 78.

Lourdes defeated Madonna (Mich.) in a playoff to win the team title after each team posted 310s.

Colin Duffy of Siena Heights (Mich.) won Medalist honors with a 2-over par 74.

The Polar Bears will continue their fall season Saturday and Sunday at the Bluffton Invitational.
