Goodchild, Tatman lead Men's Golf into first place tie after Day 1 of ONU Spring Invitational

HARROD — Senior Zach Goodchild (Pickerington/North) fired a 4-over par 75 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team into a first place tie after the first round of the ONU Spring Invitational on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Colonial Golfers Club.
The Polar Bears (16-39 overall) are tied with Tiffin with 305s. Heidelberg is in third place with a 312.
Goodchild is tied for fifth out of 36 golfers on the 6788-yard, par 71 course.
Sophomore Ryan Tatman (West Chester/Lakota East) is tied for seventh with a 76 and senior Rike Watanabe (Centerville) and junior Joshua Turich (Centerville) are tied for ninth with 77s.
Three golfers are tied for Medalist honors with 72s.
Round 2 is slated for a Noon shotgun start on Sunday, weather permitting.
