Goodchild fires a 75, leads Men's Golf in first round of Heidelberg Spring Invitational

TIFFIN — Sophomore Zach Goodchild fired a 3-over par 75 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team on the first day of the Heidelberg Spring Invitational Saturday afternoon at Mohawk Country Club.
Goodchild sits in third place out of 47 golfers through 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament.
Tiffin leads the team standings in the 6-team field with a 303, Baldwin Wallace is second with a 307, Ohio Northern is third with a 310 and Lourdes is fourth with a 315.
Senior Rick Deichert and junior Blaine Ricketts are tied for seventh with 77s and freshman Nick Anderson is tied for 10th with a 78 on the par-72, 6705-yard course.
BW's Jason Garnet holds the 18-hole lead with an even-par 72.
The final 18 holes will begin on Sunday with a 9 am shotgun start.
