Men's Golf wraps up Fall schedule with third place finish at Capital Fall Classic

GALENA — Freshman Zach Goodchild fired a 3-over par 111 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a third place finish at the 27-hole Capital Fall Classic Friday at the Royal American Links golf course.
The Polar Bears end their Fall season with a 21-13 record.
The tournament was scheduled for 36 holes, but was delayed at the onset due to heavy fog and was shortened to 27 holes.
Goodchild fired a 3-over par 75 in the first round, then carded an even-par 36 on the back 9 to finish tied for seventh out of 34 golfers on the par-72, 6859-yard course.
Junior Rick Deichert tied for ninth with a 112, senior Ryan Wirtz tied for 15th with a 115, junior Brandon Lambert tied for 20th with a 116 and senior Colin Burns was 25th with a 118.
ONU finished with a 303-151—454. Mount Vernon Nazarene won the team title with a 440, Otterbein was second with a 441 and Capital was fifth with a 458.
Otterbein's David Monaco won Medalist honors with a 105.
