Men's Bowling finishes 5th of 12 at Alma (Mich.) Scotty Classic in record-breaking fashion

JACKSON, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's bowling team posted its best finish in program history, finishing fifth of 12 teams at the Alma (Mich.) Scotty Classic on Saturday.
The Polar Bears did so in record-breaking fashion, setting school records with a high game of 1008 and the highest baker game with a 267.

- Ohio Northern finished 5th of 12 teams with 6,380 pins.

The Tournament
- ONU defeated Indiana Wesleyan, Michigan State, Grace (Ind.), Grand Valley State (Mich.), Ferris State (Mich.), Bethel (Ind.), and Lewis (Ill.).
- Individually, freshman Lukas Dunbar (Orient/Teays Valley) was named to the All-Tournament Team with a 4-game score of 799 with scores of 184, 153,195 and 267 for an average of 199.8.
- Dunbar finished tied for second out of 115 bowlers with his 799 series.
- Freshman Nolan Caban (Dayton/Centerville) had a high game of 244 and an average of 192.0 and finished ninth individually.
- Freshman Julian Calvelage (Elida/Delphos Jefferson) was 41st overall with an average of 170.8.
- Spring Arbor (Mich.) won the team title with 6970 pins.
Notables
- This was the penultimate of 10 events for Ohio Northern in its inaugural season.
- First-year head coach Jeff Robinson leads the Polar Bears.
