Miller pours in career-high 34 points as Men's Basketball defeats Marietta 85-75 in overtime

ADA — Sophomore Will Miller (Ottoville) scored career-high 34 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to an 85-75 overtime win over Marietta on Saturday afternoon.

- Trailing 65-63, Miller hit a runner with 0.4 seconds left to send the game into overtime.
- The Polar Bears opened overtime with a 8-0 run in the first 1:36 to grab a 73-65 lead.
- Marietta pulled to within 78-73 with 1:02 left, but the Polar Bears would out-score MC 7-2 in the final minute to put the game away.
- Ohio Northern was 31-of-71 from the floor for 43.7 percent and made 12-of-32 three-pointer for 37.5 percent, while Marietta finished 27-of-67 from the field for 40.3 percent and 7-of-22 from three-point range for 31.8 percent.
- ONU made 11-of-15 free throws for 73.3 percent and MC was 14-of-22 from the foul line for 63.6 percent.

- Miller scored a career-high of 34 points making this game his 15th game scoring in double digits and 4th game of over 20 points this season.
- Cunningham Jr. broke the ONU freshman single-season record for steals with 53 steals this season. He had three steals in the game today. he broke the previous record of 51 set by Tony Meyer in 2009-10.
- Ohio Northern is now 60-46 all-time against Marietta, including a 33-18 mark in Ada.
