Men's Basketball falls at No. 9 Marietta 105-72

MARIETTA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team fell 105-72 at No. 9 Marietta Saturday night at Ban Johnson Arena.
With the loss, the Polar Bears finish the regular season 3-6 overall and 3-6 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers improve to 9-1, 9-1.
Sophomore C.J. Napier (Miamisburg/Bishop Fenwick) led ONU in scoring with 19 points and 7 rebounds.
Sophomore Grant Heileman (Millersport/Sheridan) and junior Brandon Waugh (Columbus/Northland) added 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
Marietta's Kyle Matoszkia led all scores with 21 points coming off the bench.
MC led 7-6 with 16:01 remaining in the first half and a 19-2 Pioneer run made it 26-8 with 10:57 remaining.
Marietta led 52-34 at halftime and cruised to the win.
ONU made 25-of-66 field goal attempts for 37.9 percent and were 4-of-19 from 3-point range for 21.1 percent. MC was 36-of-76 from the floor for 51.3 percent and shot 13-of-28 three-pointers for 46.4 percent.
The Pioneers out-rebounded the Polar Bears 44-38.
Ohio Northern will rbe the No. 5 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will play at No. 4 John Carroll in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
