Men's Basketball picked third in OAC Preseason poll

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team has been picked to finish third in the 2018-19 Ohio Athletic Conference coaches poll, voted on by league coaches.
Northern received 59 points in the poll and is seeking its fourth consecutive upper division finish under third-year head coach Rich Bensman.
John Carroll was selected to repeat as conference champions with 79 points and seven first place votes, Marietta was picked to finish second with 75 points and three first place votes and Mount Union was picked to finish fourth with 54 points.
Bensman returns three starters and 10 lettermen from last year's squad that finished 19-9 overall and was third in the OAC with a 12-6 league mark.
The Polar Bears will open the 2018-19 season Nov. 12 when they host area-rival Defiance at 7 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
