Devon Allen, Ryan Bruns, Joey Hurless named All-Conference in Men's Basketball for 2016-17 season

ADA — Senior Devon Allen (Lima/Senior), sophomore Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) and senior Joey Hurless (Van Wert) were all named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's basketball for 2016-17 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Allen was named First Team All-OAC, Bruns was named to the Second Team and Hurless was an Honorable Mention All-Conference honoree.
Allen led the Polar Bears in scoring this season with a 15.4 ppg average and leads the OAC with 90 made 3-pointers and started 23 of 26 games at shooting guard.
In 103 career games, Allen scored 964 points, an average of 9.5 ppg. He ranks third all-time at ONU with an 87.7 free throw shooting percentage and is eighth all-time with 205 made 3-pointers.
Bruns was third on the team in scoring at 13.0 ppg and led the team and is fifth in the OAC in rebounding at 7.5 rpg and started 23 games at center.
He also led the team and leads the league with an ONU sophomore-record 66 blocked shots.
Bruns will enter his junior season ranked fifth all-time in ONU history with 124 career blocked shots.
Hurless is making his second appearance on the All-Conference squad after receiving Honorable Mention kudos as a junior in 2016. He was also an Academic All-OAC honoree as a junior last year.
He led the team and the OAC in assists for the second consecutive season, dishing out a school record 195 assists last season and 137 this year as ONU's starting point guard.
Hurless ends his career as ONU's all-time leader with 494 assists in 100 games as a Polar Bear.
Ohio Northern finished the 2016-17 season 16-10 overall and tied for second place in the OAC with a 14-4 mark under first-year head coach Rich Bensman.
