Senior Lucas Pennington scores 19 in Men's Basketball 69-65 loss to Capital

BEXLEY - The Ohio Northern men's basketball team fell 69-65 to Capital, Saturday afternoon at the Performance Arena in Columbus.
The Polar Bears fall to 8-9 on the season and 3-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while Capital improves its record to 5-12, 3-7.
Senior Lucas Pennington scored a team-high 19 points and grabbed two rebounds to lead ONU.
Freshman Travis Feitshans and Joey DiOrio chipped in 10 points each, respectively.
Capital was led by AJ Dixon, who scored a game-high 23 points on the afternoon.
After falling behind 5-1, Pennington nailed back-to-back three pointers to give Northern the 7-5 lead with 15:59 remaining in the half.
After falling behind 21-20, Capital would go on a 9-3 run to end the half and pushed their lead to 29-24.
Capital wasted no time in the second half as they went on a 9-5 run to start the half and extend their lead to 38-29 with 16:49 remaining in the contest.
After falling behind 57-51, Northern stormed back going on an 8-0 run keyed by Pennington's six points.
After regaining the lead 66-65 with 49 seconds remaining in the contest, Capital would score the next three points to go on to win the game 69-65.
The Polar Bears won the rebounding battle, edging Capital 28-27.
Northern shot 17-of-44 (38.6 percent) from the field and Capital shot 21-of-45 (46.7 percent) on the afternoon.
Ohio Northern will return to the hardwood Wednesday, as they travel to Otterbein for a 7:30 pm start.
