Senior Lucas Pennington scores a career-high 28 points in Men's Basketball 77-65 loss to Muskingum

NEW CONCORD - Senior Lucas Pennington scored a game-high and career-high 28 points Saturday afternoon as the men's basketball team fell to Muskingum 77-65 at Performance Court.
The Polar Bears fall to 5-4 on the year and 1-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while Muskingum improves to 3-7, 1-4.
Pennington also pulled down a team-high six rebounds on the afternoon.
Senior Jordan Martin added eight points for ONU.
Muskingum was led by Logan Kimble, who scored 23 points.
After exchanging leads throughout the first half, Muskingum went on an 8-0 run to push the score to 37-27 with 2:26 remaining in the first half.
The Polar Bears would end the half on a 6-2 run, capped off by a free throw from freshman Travis Feitshans to close the gap to 33-39.
ONU opened the second half scoring four of the first five points, and a pair of free throws by Martin closed the gap to 37-40 with 17:16 remaining in the contest.
Northern couldn't manage to get any closer as the Muskies went on to win the contest 77-65.
Muskingum won the rebounding battle 44-32 on the afternoon.
The Polar Bears went 18-of-61 (29.5 percent) from the field including 6-of-28 (21.4 percent) from beyond the arc.
The Muskies shot 27-of-57 (47.4 percent) from the field and 3-of-13 (23.1 percent) from three point range.
The Polar Bears will be back in action on New Years Eve as they travel to West Virginia to take on Bethany at 1 pm.
