Scott Schnelle, Branden Rushton named All-OAC in Men's Basketball

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Scott Schnelle and sophomore Branden Rushton were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's basketball for 2011-12 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Schnelle was named Second Team All-OAC and Rushton was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Both men are making their second appearances on the All-OAC squad.
Schnelle was a First team All-OAC honoree as a junior in 2011 and led the Polar Bears in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and blocked shots (44) and was second in scoring at 12.6 ppg.
He ended his career ranked 34th all-time at ONU with 1,057 points in 106 career games.
Schnelle is also fourth in blocked shots (125), fifth in field goal shooting percentage (.553), 11th in made free throws (311) and 15th in rebounding (602).
Rushton is a two-time Honorable Mention All-OAC award winner and led ONU in scoring at 13.3 ppg and in assists with 55. He was second in steals with 27.
In two seasons as a Polar Bear, Rushton has 670 career points.
Ohio Northern finished the 2011-12 with a 14-14 record, finished sixth in the OAC regular season standings with an 8-10 record and reached the semifinals of the OAC Tournament under third-year head coach John Rhodes.
