Bio

Denny Compston is in his 12th season as an assistant football coach at Ohio Northern, where he serves as assistant defensive coach and equipment manager.

Compston comes to Ohio Northern with more than 30 years of coaching experience at NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and NAIA.

Prior to his arrival at ONU, he completed a four-year stint as an assistant coach at Ohio Wesleyan from 2008-11.

Compston also has experience coaching at Virginia-Wise, Newberry (S.C.), Concord (W.Va.), Urbana, West Virginia Tech, Earlham (Ind.), Valparaiso (Ind.), Manchester (Ind.), Lock Haven (Pa.), Ball State (Ind.), and Defiance.

He was head football coach at Urbana from 1996-2000.

Compston received a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Defiance and a master’s degree from Ball State in physical education.

He resides in Ada.
