Both of ONU's running backs had career afternoons, as RB A.J. Marks ran 10 times for a career-high 146 yards and a score and RB Brock Martin rushed 23 times for a career-best 136 yards and two scores. QB Anthony McFadden ran 10 times for 78 yards and completed 15-of-22 passes for 253 yards and three scores and WR Chad Rex caught nine passes for 140 yards and a TD for the Polar Bears. Defensively, LB Mark Niles had 10 tackles and LB David Haseleu had six tackles, a sack and a 37-yard pick-6 for ONU. ONU led 21-7 at halftime and 35-10 after 3 quarters.
ONU Leaders: The ONU running game is led by RB A.J. Marks (28 att, 275 yards, 2 TDs), QB Anthony McFadden (32 att, 258 yards) and RB Brock Martin (52 att, 256 yards, 7 TDs). Last Year's Game: Ohio Northern celebrated Homecoming with a 35-7 football victory over Otterbein in Ada. The Polar Bears used a dominating second half in the victory, holding the Cardinals to just 40 yards of total offense and one first down in the final 30 minutes. Meanwhile the ONU offense would gain 243 yards of offense and score 22 points in the second half to put the game away. QB Will Freed completed 28-of-33 passes for 311 yards and 4 TDs, WR Chad Rex caught six passes for 140 yards and 3 TDs and RB Christiaan Williams ran 32 times for 162 yards and a TD. LB Zach Schmerge had 6 tackles to lead the ONU defense. ONU out-gained OU 496-142 in total offense.
