ADA — Freshman Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 24-29 for his efforts in Northern's 45-29 victory over Marietta.
The Polar Bears improved to 4-4 on the year and 4-3 in the OAC with the victory.
Williams earned his third Offensive Player of the Week honor this season.
The freshman ran 23 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 67 yards and a third score for Ohio Northern.
Williams has surpassed the century mark in rushing yards in each of his first seven collegiate games.
With two games remaining on the schedule, Williams needs 65 yards to become the 15th player in ONU history to surpass the 1,000 yard mark in a single season.
Northern will return to action Saturday as they welcome Wilmington to Dial-Roberson Stadium and celebrate Senior Day at 1:30 pm.
