Senior Scott Rapps and sophomore Joe French earn OAC Player of the Week honors

ADA — Senior Scott Rapps (Bay Village Bay) and sophomore Joe French (Elgin, Ill./Saint Edward Central Catholic) earned Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for their efforts in Ohio Northern's 16-10 victory over Otterbein.
This is the second accolade for the duo in the first three weeks of the 2016 season.
Rapps was named OAC Defensive Player of the Week, while French was named OAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Rapps led a strong defensive effort as he posted a team-high nine tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and added two huge fumble recoveries for ONU.
The senior recovered a fumble in the end zone to score the only touchdown of the day for Northern.
French tied the school record for the second time this season with three field goals.
The sophomore went 3-for-3 during the contest, making field goals of 22, 34, and 21 yards.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they welcome No. 1 Mount Union in their home opener at Dial-Roberson Stadium at 1:30 pm.
