Football celebrates Senior Day with 50-15 victory over Wilmington

ADA — Ohio Northern celebrated Senior Day with a 50-15 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Wilmington Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears won their fourth consecutive game and improve to 6-3 overall and are 5-3 in OAC action, while the Quakers fall to 0-9, 0-8.
The victory also clinches an upper division finish for ONU in the 10-team OAC for the 18th time in the last 19 seasons.
Junior Devon Price caught seven passes for 111 yards and a score and became ONU's all-time receptions leader.
In just three seasons, Price has caught 151 passes, surpassing the previous mark of 146 set by Greg Evilsizor from 2001-04.
This season, Price leads the OAC with 61 receptions and has 792 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.
Senior Patrick Angle completed 16-of-27 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns and junior Justin Magazine ran 12 times for 112 yards and a score for ONU.
With the score tied at 3-3 after the first period, ONU outscored WC 40-5 in the middle 30 minutes to lead 43-8 entering the fourth quarter.
After sophomore Mike Cunningham recovered a fumble on WC's first play of the game, junior Andrew DiMario nailed a 30-yard field goal to make it 3-0 with just 1:52 gone.
Wilmington then drove 66 yards in 15 plays and tied the game at 3-3 on a 23-yard field goal with 5:19 left in the period.
Angle threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Reed Allen with 11:17 left in the half to give ONU a 9-3 lead, but the Quakers blocked the PAT and returned it for a defensive PAT to trim the lead to 9-5.
Angle and Allen hooked up on a 24-yard TD pass with 5:07 left in the half to extend ONU's lead to 16-5 and Price caught a 12-yard scoring pass from Angle with 1:10 left in the quarter to give ONU a 23-5 lead at intermission.
WC kicked a 37-yard field goal on its first possession of the second half to pull within 23-8.
But ONU would score touchdowns on its next three possessions to put the game away.
Magazine plowed in from seven yards out with 9:58 left in the third quarter to make it 29-8.
Senior Tyler Habony made a diving catch in the end zone to complete a 23-yard touchdown pass from Angle and it was 36-8 with 4:57 left in the third.
Junior Tony Davis then banged in from two yards out and ONU led 43-8 with 23 seconds left in the period.
Sophomore Raymond Brown plowed in from one yard out with 9:13 left in the game to wrap up the scoring and make it 50-15.
ONU out-gained WC 560-269 in total offense.
Defensively, senior Dillon Kwiat had a game-high 11 tackles and had an interception to lead ONU.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their season next Saturday with a 1:30 pm contest at Otterbein in Westerville.
