ADA — Ohio Northern junior Matt Chaney was named the OHio Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his efforts in ONU's 24-13 victory at Marietta on Saturday.
Chaney drilled a career-long 49-yard field goal, missed a 55-yard field goal wide to the right and averaged 58.0 yards per kick on six kickoffs with one touchback.
This marks the third consecutive week that an ONU player has won an OAC Player of the Week award.
Sophomore Dan Eller was named the Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27 and senior Patrick Angle was named the Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 20.
The Polar Bears (5-3 overall, 4-3 OAC) will celebrate Senior Day this Saturday when they host Wilmington at 1:30 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
