Baseball sweeps double header at Wilmington by identical 12-1 scores

WILMINGTON — The Ohio Northern baseball team swept an Ohio Athletic Conference double header at Wilmington on Sunday afternoon.
ONU won the opener 12-1 and took the nightcap 12-1.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (14-13 overall, 5-5 OAC), Wilmington (2-23 overall, 0-10 OAC).

Game 1 - W, 12-1 (8 innings)
- Northern broke open a tight 2-1 game with three runs in the fifth and seventh innings and four more in the eighth inning.

Game 2 - W, 12-1 (7 innings)
- Northern scored twice in the third and three more in the fourth and fifth frames to go up 8-1, then added four more in the seventh to ice the game.
- Freshman Marco Morrison (Whitehouse/Anthony Wayne) went 3-for-4 with three runs and 4 RBI, including a 3-run home run in the fourth, to lead the ONU offense.
- Stevens was 3-for-4 with a run scored in the nightcap.
- Junior Joe Tootle (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) allowed one run and five hits in 3.2 innings to earn the win and improve to 2-2 on the season.
