Strong pitching performance by Tyler Deitering leads Baseball to 6-2 victory over Denison

ADA -- Senior Tyler Deitering pitched seven strong innings, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out seven, to lead Ohio Northern to a 6-2 baseball victory over Denison Tuesday afternoon at Wander Field.
Ohio Northern improves to 14-4 on the season, while the Big Red falls to 5-8.
Dietering improves to 2-0 on the season.
Northern got on the board in the bottom of the first when senior Daniel Rodriguez drew a 2-out, bases loaded walk to put ONU up 1-0.
After Denison tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the second, ONU scored three times in the bottom of the second to regain the lead.
Sophomore Nick Eltzroth had an RBI triple and later scored on a single by junior Jack LaMarca to key the rally.
Northern extended its lead top 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth when junior Dan Belliveau scored an unearned run on a sac fly by sophomore Clay Small.
Senior Ben Heskett gave ONU an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with a pinch-hit solo home run, his first of the season.
Belliveau was the only Ohio Northern player to have a multiple-hit game, going 2-for-3.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday with a road game at Ohio Wesleyan.
