ADA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer team lost 2-0 at Ohio Northern University today (Saturday, October 15, 2011) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at the ONU Soccer Field.

With its loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-7 overall and 1-4 in the OAC and next plays at home on Tuesday, Oct. 18 when they host the University of Mount Union on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea at 7:00 p.m. ONU improves to 11-1-2 overall and 5-0 in the OAC.

The Polar Bears jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 15:44 mark of the first half when Chelsea Chadwick scored an unassisted goal. The score remained 1-0 going into halftime.

In the second half, ONU increased there lead when Abbie Schauble scored off a corner kick when she blasted a shot in the upper right corner of the net to extend the Polar Bears lead. Alyssa Merrick was credited with the assist.

In net for the first half of action, freshman Claire LoPresti (Bethel Park, Pa.) faced two ONU shots and saving one, but 

allowing another. In the second half, freshman Gabrielle Bodo (Alliance/St. Thomas Aquinas) faced five shots saving one and allowing one as well.  

B-W outshot ONU, 11-7, and outcornered the Yellow Jackets, 4-4.

On Saturday, October 22, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College in a Seniors' Day doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (STO). This is the fourth straight year that B-W has televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a perfect 6-0 record on the line. This also is the final home regular season match.
