Ohio Northern celebrates Black History Month: Jerry Adams

Jerry Adams was an All-American defensive back and linebacker for Ohio Northern from 1993-96.

Adams was an AFCA All-American defensive back in 1996 after spending his first three seasons at ONU playing linebacker.

He was a First-Team All-OAC honoree in 1995 and a Second Team All-OAC pick in 1994 at outside linebacker.

Upon switching to safety as a senior in 1996, Adams was named First Team All-America and First Team All-OAC for the Polar Bears.

He still ranks fifth on ONU's all-time career tackles list with 296.

A Cleveland heights native, Adams graduated from Ohio Northern with a degree in education in 1997.

Also during his senior season, Adams was the host of a weekly radio show "Chillin with Jerry" on Ohio Northern student radio station WONB.
