In the aftermath of the 9/11 attack on America 19 years ago, the Ohio Northern athletics teams and teams in the OAC stood firm, refused to be intimidated and kept playing.
The men's soccer team hosted Adrian the next afternoon on Sept. 12, and posted a 9-0 victory at the ONU Soccer Field.
Greg Trosper scored twice and Matt Ellis scored once and had three assists to lead ONU.
The Polar Bear women's soccer team played at Kalamazoo Sept. 13 and the volleyball team traveled to Saint Louis, Mo., to compete in the Washington Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14 and 15.
On Saturday, Ohio Northern's cross country teams ran at the Wilmington Invitational, men's soccer hosted the annual ONU Invitational and the women's soccer team hosted Carthage (Wis.)
The football team wrapped up the day with a 38-14 win at Muskingum on Saturday night.
The Polar Bears won the ONU Invitational on Sunday with a 3-0 men's soccer victory over Alma to complete a memorable week of competition.
